During this introductory monitoring program, girls will examine the freshwater wetlands at Cloverdale Farm County Park for four different types of migratory dragonflies: the common green darner, black saddlebags, wandering glider, and spot-winged glider as part of the Migratory Dragonfly Partnership (MDP). These real-world investigations will help expand scientist’s understanding of the local life histories of migrant and resident dragonfly populations as well as the timing and location of dragonfly migration. Pre-registration is required. Adults must sign girls in with the facilitator at the beginning of the program and return promptly by 2:50pm for pickup. Adults who would like to are more than welcome to stay for the program. The cost of the Citizen Scientist badge is included in the cost of the program.

Please dress for the weather, wear waterproof shoes, and be prepared to walk one mile. Be sure to bring a reusable water bottle. Girls are encouraged to wear their uniform to this activity.
