Amelia Earhart flew to fame in the 1930’s when she became the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean, but she was not satisfied with this as she was only a passenger with a man as the pilot. She said, “There is more to life than being a passenger” and set out to take the controls herself!
During her life, she not only changed the idea of what a woman could, and should, accomplish- she also encouraged other women to pursue their dreams and not be limited by their gender. She was a best-selling author, a teacher, and founder of the Ninety Nines, a flying club for female pilots.
By completing this self-guided program, participants will go on an adventure, design the perfect outfit for their favorite activity, build an airplane and plot a navigational course to fly across the country!
